What does background data on smartphone mean?
I didn't have 3G turned on but my data usage for today was 27MB. Later I found out I forgot to turn off background data. I wonder if having background data turned on would also use data even I'm not connected to 3G. Is that true?
What would be a good texting and non smartphone kind of phone?
A few to a couple months ago I got a sony ericsson walkman phone that was used for $40 off of ebay and then maybe a couple months ago the screen broke on it. I have had both that phone and the samsung propel before but I am not sure if I should get a new cellphone that is the same like the ones I have used before or if I should do something else. Should I get a completely new phone, get a phone like the ones I have had before, or should I get a different phone off of ebay amazon that would be cheaper? Or something else? I am looking for a phone that doesn't use a data plan or any kind of internet that is a good texting phone...

Hey, I am a student. I'm looking for a smartphone that is suitable for me. I love music and videos and taking pictures as well. So, I need big internal memory for that. Wi fi as well as apps and features that is suitable for an abroad student. Have any suggestion? I have been eyeing Samsung Galaxy S2 and Iphone 4 but still loking for something that suit my budget.

well, i just broke my blackberry cuz its probbly the most worthless piece of $H T ever. I'm looking 4 something with a long battery life cuz i game a lot and txt friends on the side i'm one of those gamers tht actually HAS a social life and decent grades which is rare lol and can't have the battery die in like 5 seconds blackberry prime example kind of looking for touchscreen, something like the iphone but with longer battery life and it can't cost too much. also please tell me which service i should get moving to seattle, wa so i don't know what they have up there and i was looking at the iphone 4S but it is too expensive but tell me where its cheapest in seattle. i hope i kind of gave u an idea of what i'm looking for and i hope u can help me.thanks guys

How to understand weird data usage on my smartphone?
I didn't turn on 3G today but my Data Meter says as of 7 21pm I used 27 MB of data. I remember resetting the Data Meter at around 7 20pm but my 3G was never turned on. Plus it doesn't even show the data usage by activity pie chart when I investigate. How did this happen?
